My Story

How my landlady turned my happiness to pain

This is a story of a Nigerian bachelor, Daniel Adams, who lives in a room let, a computer Engineer by profession and also an Evangelist. His problems started after he parked in into the house he rented, he lived alone, and after he got the apartment, he became friendly with everybody including the landlady and she (landlady) took him as her own son, they share problems and solutions together, sit and chat sometimes as the case maybe and talk over some issues. After sometime the daughter started bringing food for him, whenever he returns from travel or program. But to him remembering what his father use to tell him whenever he is advising him. He will always tell him that whenever a woman or lady starts showing your favors that he should be careful before it turns into another thing meaning before it become an intimate thing or trap. So he started rejecting most of her offer and favors. But as time goes the mother of the girl (his landlady) advised him to start Ministry in the compound which he accepted. As soon as thing started getting better and taking shape, the landlady went to him and asks him to advice the daughter to accept one of her suitors for marriage. Of which he did just as the mother said, some weeks later the girl came to Mr. Adams with list of suitors, seeking her hand in marriage. So they prayed together over the issue, after sometime the mother of the girl repeated, then Mr. Adams told her (the landlady) that they have prayed about it and the mother said it is ok.

AFFECT OF RUMOR

One day Mr. Adams told the landlady about certain girl he wants to marry, so that she can advice him and she advised him to carry  on with his plan, but to Mr. Adam s greatest surprise the next day he heard all that he discuses  with the landlady in the street were people are talking about it. With that Mr. Adams decided never to discus anything about himself with the landlady and with her interference the relationship was destroyed.

Mr. Adams entered into another relationship, without letting her to know, but due to the fact that the girl visits him at home sometimes, the landlady told him to stop the girl from visiting and spending time in his place, and reminding him that he is a man of God and Mr. Adams agreed with her without arguing and also not letting her know his intentions about the girl. As time goes on the landlady started a gossip about him, telling people that the girl will soon be pregnant they should watch, even to the girl’s hearing. On hearing this Mr. Adams decided to propose to the girl and stop the gossip and rumors. After some months my mother came to visit him and Mr. Adams told the mother about the girl of which the mother accepted and also approved their marriage and became friendly with the girl.

THE TURN OF EVENT

 But not long enough for her to be more familiar with the girl and her family, the landlady and her daughter met with Mr. Adams telling him, that the girl is a very bad girl, and that her mother died from prostitution, and that the girl will be like her mother. The daughter said better expect a surprise from this girl, then Mr. Adams said to them surprises can be for good or for bad, but anyone she comes with he will be ready to face it and that he is watching. Seeing that they could not turn Mr. Adams against the girl he loved, they turned to his mother with that entire story polluting the mother’s mind against the girl and the girl’s family.

NOW WAR IN THE HOUSE

His mother turned both against the girl and her family and also against her son Mr. Adams, this lead to a serious quarrel in the house all about the girl. But Mr. Adams tried to explain things for the mother but she refused to hear him out, instead she picked her things and left Mr. Adams house. The landlady went about the street telling people that Mr. Adams sent his mother of the house because of a common girl.

After his mother left the house she went to

Mr. Adams elder brother’s house to stay there she turns Mr. Adams elder brother against him, by telling him that his younger brother Mr. Adams sent her out ,of his house because of one stupid girl, and also turned his father against him because of same girl. As if that was not enough for his landlady, she ask the girl to stop visiting him or coming to her compound, that was not enough, she also visited the girls family telling the girls aunty to do anything possible to stop the relationship and the marriage, but that was after her spoke with Mr. Adams mother and she told her that Mr. Adams wants to marry the girl, that the girl is not a girl friend to him. But while all this was happening Mr. Adams spoke to the girl about marriage and the girl accepted. So after the landlady spoke to the girl’s aunty and the aunty also turned against Mr. Adams and turned her family against him. But speaking with some elders Mr. Adams was advised to go and visit the family of the girl the proper way, that if they accept you you should continue, but if the refuse you should go your way. With that Mr. Adams did as he was told and according to the tradition of the people and the girls family accepted him, and the girl agreed before her family to marry him. The landlady unaware of this did not stop in her quest to destroy the relationship. At this time Mr. Adams mother realized what a woman the son’s landlady is turned back to her son and they reconcile and make peace. Then the mother blessed him and the girl, all this happened without the landlady’s knowledge and she never knew that Mr. Adams have made peace with the father, mother and the girls family. All because

HER DAUGHTER TRIED TO BRING ME BACK INTO HER LIFE

She traveled, during her traveled period the daughter started paying attention to me coming back to me, being friendly, but to Mr. Adams he became watchful and careful. Not long she started demanding do this for me, do that for me. He did for her the once he can the once he could not he told her that he cannot because their is no attachment between them

THE LANDLADY’S DAUGHTERS JEALOUSY EXPOSED       

One day something happened that look s very funny during her mothers absents, his landlady’s daughter came into his house and told him that she want to have a word with him of which he granted her, but after some time a friend and a also a member of the ministry came to visit and she is a lady and it have been long she visited last so they began to speak after excusing her of which she agreed and left for them to talk. But after some minute he came out to see her but she is no longer their so he went to the back only to see the girl moving up and down angry, and when he ask the girl what the problem was she ask, is the girl gone and he answered no, then she said go and stay with her, just leave me alone go. Mr. Adams became speechless because he was not expecting such attitude.

THE MOTHER RETURNED AND INCREASE HER FIRE TO DESTROY MR.ADAMS RELATIONSHIP

After a month the mother returned from her travel, meanwhile the girl (the landlady’s daughter) stopped talking to Mr. Adams and he refuse to pay attention to her because their nothing going on within them. When the mother came back not knowing happened in her absents went to the girls family and told them to stop anything going on with me and the girl, that she have three persons w ho are ready to marry the girl and to take care of her both in her academics and everything. That they are both rich and influential, she not knowing that the girl is now engaged to me and the family has accepted Mr. Adam to be their in-law. And she threatened that if she keeps seeing him and the girl that she will give him quit notice.

This lead to the family sending the girl far way from Mr. Adams, but with intentions for her to further her education of which the two family agreed upon. With that his landlady gave him a quit notice to pack out. That led to Mr. Adams been homeless, the ministry destroyed and his reputation rubbed to the mod by his landlady. Meanwhile he keeps communicating with the girl on phone and also .on 2go u until one day.

THINGS TURNED BAD
